The Netherlands' largest telco Royal KPN NV Tuesday brought down its full-year guidance after registering  a 63% decline in fourth quarter’s profit, claiming 2012 will be a year of transformation as weakness in its domestic market worsens and macroeconomic environment remains unstable. Its shares fell January 24 as a consequence and at 0908 GMT were trading 6.3% lower at €8.01, underperforming the broader market with benchmark index AEX down 0.6%. Analysts said the outlook was "disappointing and quite a warning." KPN’s net profit declined to €176 million in the three months ending December 31, from €475 million a year ago, affected by a €298 million charge on its IT services division Getronics, which’s international operations will be sold. For this year, the telco now predicts its free cash-flow to be in a range of €1.6 billion to €1.8 billion, down from its previous aim of around €2.4 billion. EBITDA is also expected to fall from last year’s levels of €5.27 billion, to between €4.7 billion and €4.9 billion range excluding the cost of shedding 4,000 to 5,000 jobs between 2011 and 2015.
